TO GET THE BEST OUT OF YOUR KNITWEAR FOLLOW THESE EASY STEPS
Wool & possum being a natural, renewable fibres, are breathable- meaning they feels gentle on the skin. Our knitwear is also easy to care for, being odour resistant and anti-wrinkle. The natural elasticity of merino allows a garment to retain its shape after washing, ensuring a wardrobe that will stand the test of time.
WASH
Knitwear is delicate & needs to be looked after
Hand washing is recommended in cold water
Heat & agitation will damage natural fibres. Avoid rubbing, soaking and bleaching or soaking as this can damage your garment
AVOID shrinking -always wash in cold.
Don't use fabric softener or laundry detergents - natural wool wash only.
Don’t over wash- no need to wash after every wear.
DRY
Gently squeeze excess water, Lie flat to dry
Our knitwear holds its shape and retains its colour very well when washed correctly.
If the water is too warm, the garment will felt and shrink.
STORE
Preferably fold and store clean knitwear to maintain shape, avoid hanging and store using a natural repellent such as lavender or Orphea clothes protectors (made from plant and flower extracts from the Swiss Alps). If you want to be 100% sure moths won't reach your garment, store in a sealed plastic bag or sealed tub throughout the Summer months... and be sure to spring clean your wardrobe- thoroughly wipe all surfaces regularly to eliminate moth eggs.
What to expect with natural fibres : pilling and shedding
Most of our wool blends have not been treated with a synthetic coating, so it may pill or shed for the first wash/wear. However Possum merino blends are renowned for their anti- pilling properties. It has no scales, which means it will not pill.
Remember ...no other fibre, manmade or synthetic, comes close to merino wool blended with possum fur &silk it's worth looking after. It is the ultimate fibre.
